beertown friends

Last night we sent B to beertown. Er, beantown. We sent beer to Beantown. We .. uh.. yeah. There's an old barcrawling habit I have which basically boils down to "never pass up an opportunity to order beer from a waitress, because you never know when you'll see her again."

This strategy backfires, however, when you're at a place with phenomenal service like the Lipstick Lounge. They'll shovel booze to you as fast as you can drink it and still have time to make you a burger.

Had a lot of fun as expected. Mad props go out to Katherine for the best performance of the night.

And guys, friends don't let friends take pictures drunk. They look all artsy and fancy, right? But you guys don't get to see the reject pile. Why did I take a picture of Shauna's feet? And, did I forget where the focus ring is? Cameras need a "drunk" mode. Hm. I'll be right back, I gotta head to the patent office.

It was fun to party with you!

And you know, reject pile or no, I'm grateful to you for sharing that pic of me. I so rarely like photos of myself; it's a great moment to enjoy seeing a pic of me. Do you ever think about that, as a photographer? I mean, that what you're capable of can be such a positive, self-affirming moment for people? So many people have such bad experiences with having their picture taken, it must be a transformational moment for a lot of folks to see a flattering picture of themselves.

Anyway, good luck with the drunk mode patent, but then again, the photos of Shauna's feet sound pretty intriguing. ;)

I'm awfully curious about this reject picture of my feet.
I enjoyed getting a chance to talk to you last night. For some reason (I can't remember why!) I had sort of written you off as some sort of jerk. I was totally off. Chris Wage: not a jerk.

Yep, I had a fun night, glad I got to hang with ya Chris.

Kate completely sums up the way I feel about this picture Shauna took of me. It's so fucking amazing I just want to squeal with joy. And then put it up on my myspace or something although I get enough weird people wanting to be my myspace friend, I'm sure that pic would attract them in droves. Ha.

I, too, want to see the Shana's foot picture. You can't tease us like that, man!

[...] Chris Wage is such a cutie…he was roving around, camera in hand, and my gosh you simply must go see his photos.  What a talent.  It was great to finally meet Jon face to face, too.  Even in the midst of bedlam, he is the picture of serenity.  He is of the cool.  Speaking of cool, I am enamored with John Lamb.  He has the sweetest spirit about him, and some eyes to just die for.  [...]

Man, you are amazing. Blogs should have a "drunk checker" as well as a spell checker, at least in a perfect world. Great shots, each of them.

Chris, those are all just fantastic shots. I was going to comment on them on Flickr but I'd just be saying "That's fantastic!" on every one. I especially love the two you took of John and the one of Kate, and the one of Ginger singing, but they are all just fabulous.

Somewhere there's a foot fetishist going crazy right now reading about that infamous Shauna pic.

I love all the pics, and you know the cliche' - we always hate ourselves when we see ourselves in pictures, but in this case, I'm really pleased with this pic, not so much because I like the way I look, but because you can see several generations of my family in one shot.

I sent the pic to my mom, and she named the same people I had in mind without me telling her who I thought it resembled.

You really are an amazing lens-crafter. Thanks for those pics!

Wow, flattering comment, thanks! I do think about it a lot, and it always feels really good to make someone else feel good about themselves. But not everyone is as comfortable with that, or likes having a camera stuck in their face. It's tough to feel out situations and know when it's cool or not.

Oh, I'm a jerk, but just a loveable jerk. Like Genghis Khan
