And to think, if he had bracketed the exposures, that would have made one hell of an HDR image.

Wow! This is really great. You have developed quite the photo skillset. You might now consider getting your best photos professionally printed and putting them on display. Also, you’ve now quite a portfolio to start free lancing and making some money from your hobby. Great job!
