I voted this morning as well; I think the 'cue the tumbleweeds' feeling at the polling station was a combo early morning and that people don't seem to get that yes, in fact it does matter who your local government is. Too many people my age I talk to are all, 'What? There's an election? It's not time for a new president yet.'

[...] Chris Wage reminds you to vote today. I early voted (mainly because I don’t like being told when and where to do something, I do things on my own terms, damnit) but if you are a Davidson country resident and have yet to vote, today is the day to exercise your democratic right. There’s not a lot going on, so might as well, eh? Spread It Around: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages. [...]

[...] Chris Wage gives us the good news and the bad news about his early morning voting experience: I just got back — early voting managed to elude me this year. It made no difference — my polling station (East Park community center on Woodland) was basically empty. This is either a reflection of low turnout, the size of my district, or the time I showed up (8AM). Probably a bit of each. [...]

I wish so much that I could vote in this election. Alas, I live a tenth of a mile from the Davidson County line. *sigh*
