Hi Mike

Just came across your comment. Roger katula is correct in his identification of the Heritage. The company went through a few buy outs and I happened to purchase 2 kits from them in 1992 just before they went into recievership. They were then based in Miami Florida and called The Heritage car corporation. As usual the parts I ordered were not complete and put on back order (so never arrived) and eventually lost about $2000 on the deal. I did however finish both cars and still have mine today and enjoy it very much. You can read a write up from someone else here http://www.nckcc.com/april2006news.pdf. Your only chance will to find a kit that someone else has given up on. They are not that difficult to build and I did both in under 800hrs.
Good luck

Any chance you could tell me more about your experience with the Heritage replica? I am thinking about buying one but am not having any luck finding any information about them.

This is a heritage kitcar. I have rebuilt one ( the car war totally destroyed) on a chassis Dodge DAKOTA 1988 with a 6 Cyl engine. I live in Germany about 100 km away from my home I could compare all details with a original 540 K Special roadster in the Mercedes Museum. So my car is from outside about 95 % like the original.

I have the same car which is a Heritage kit car. A replica of the 1934 Mercedes Benz K model. Built in the mid 80's on a Camaro chassis 350 Chevy engine and Chevy running gear. The kits were distributed on both East and West coasts

This is not a Excalibur as made in Wisconsin by Broke Steven, The Front Bumber is different so is the hood , the running boards are build in in the Front fenders, the ornamentis not from an Excalibur which has a sord facing down , So definetly not a Excalibur made in Wisconsin, I would guess it is a Kit Car made in Florida

Hi, This is easy. Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s there was a car company down in Florida called THROUGHBRED MOTORS. They produced this car and if I am correct offered a Camaro drive train along with a rear mounted spare tire. Bobs Classic Cars can verify this, They sell them all the time.
