new miata

Although I’m not too fond of the look of it, autoblog brings some impressive news about the new Mazda MX-5 (which is no longer the Miata — just the “MX-5″. Go figure.):

The curb weight of the new 2006 Mazda MX-5 is, ready… only 22 pounds heavier than the 2005 model (approx 2460 pounds for a MT car). How’s that you say? The car is bigger, has a bigger engine and more features. The frame is 22 percent stiffer and torsional rigidity is increased 47 percent. Weight distribution is still 50:50.

Can you tell me more about the new ‘06 MX-5. Like engine options, is there a hard top, what size heels, tire size..etc..?
