mechanical failure

Filed under:— Chris @ 7:13 pm

Well, it's no secret that I've had a hell of a time with my car lately.

This month was no exception.

I already knew that my brakes were having problems and probably needed new pads if not new rotors. I also knew that my auxiliary coolant pump was leaking. What I didn't know the explanation for, however, was my HORRIBLE gas mileage -- between 4 and 14 mpg, at the most.

This is cnn.com's online poll, today:

Where should the next battlefield be in the war against terror?

Mass media disgusts me.

new hammond B3?

Filed under:— Chris @ 8:21 pm

My dad tells me that Hammond is re-issuing a new B3 for the first time.

However, it's a synthesizer, like the XB-3 was before it. No tonewheels.

But, he tells me that he's heard it, and it sounds pretty awesome. Also, they are building the cabinet so that it's interchangeable with vintage analog B-3 parts. Sounds pretty cool.

I put some pictures up here.

my bed

Filed under:— Chris @ 1:00 am

This is actually sortof funny. I just bought a brand new queen-size boxspring from a guy that lives in my apartment complex for $50, which is a really good deal, obviously.

The reason this is funny, because my bed itself is a beautiful cherry-wood queen-sized sleigh-bed that I bought for $300.. from someone in my apartment complex.

So I have a very nice bed that's worth way more than the $350 I paid for it so far.

Now all I need is someone to sell their mattress. Conversely, all this saving gives me an excuse to buy some exorbitant luxurious expensive mattress.

Most of this article is over my head, but evidently the gist of it is that they have finally quantized the force behind gravity. Pretty neat.

supercharge it

Filed under:— Chris @ 5:00 pm

I would really love to put a supercharger like this one on my car.

Unfortunately, it's $3999 and I am an auto newbie. Oh well. Daydreaming is fun.
