Amanda and I currently work

Filed under:— Chris @ 8:03 pm

Amanda and I currently work opposite schedules (I work during the day and she works evenings), so we found ourselves going out to eat a lot, snacking on our own, and eating lots of junk food..

It was unhealthy AND expensive..

So we decided to do what we had talked about doing in the past, and went to the grocery store and got ingredients to make about 3 or 4 big meals.

Amanda was a nonstop, lean, mean cooking machine.. She made pork chops, curried chicken, beef.. you name it, and then when it was all done, froze it all in individual portions with an assortment of vegetables and side-dishes.

It’s great — now when I go to work, or when I need a quick dinner, I just grab one of these..

Check it out:

I’m hoping this will end up saving us a lot of time and money in the long run!

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association

Filed under:— Chris @ 9:23 am

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) is still pursuing any peer to peer file sharing programs relentlessly.

This internal memo leaked from the RIAA is further proof of that.

Trying to stop this kind of file/information transfer, peer-to-peer or otherwise, is pointless. It’s like trying to plug a leaking dam with your fingers.

Are they evil, or just stupid?

You be the judge.

I normally avoid everything on

Filed under:— Chris @ 7:32 pm

I normally avoid everything on rotten.com like the plague, but this is really amazing/sad.

Don’t worry, it’s nothing disturbing (like most of rotten.com is).

This is what I have.

This is what I have.

From http://www.hkmj.org.hk/skin/urticari.htm:

8. CHOLINERGIC URTICARIA

A common condition in young adults with intensely itchy and short-lived eruption developing in response to sweating, exercise, emotion and hot foods. It is postulated that an increase in blood temperature triggers a neural reflex which releases acetylcholine from sympathetic nerve endings, in turn activate the mast cell to degranulate. Characteristic small wheals, less than 2 mm in diameter with surrounding red halo are more profuse on the upper trunk and proximal parts of the upper limbs. Thus it is also called micropapular urticaria. Associated systemic symptoms include faintness, headache, wheezing and palpitation.

Diagnosis is established from the history and the finding of characteristic rash during an attack. The rash can also be brought up on exercise or whole body warming. These lesions can often be reproduced by intradermal injection of cholinergic drugs, e.g., metholyl or acetylcholine.

Treatment is unsatisfactory. Patients, especially those with associated systemic symptoms, should be told to avoid situations that can precipitate an attack. Some patients improve with antihistamine therapy. This can be taken regularly or at times when they anticipate attacks. Fortunately for most patients the condition tends to improve spontaneously.

It really sucks.

By the way, I think

By the way, I think comments should be working again.

Well, I’d have to say

Filed under:— Chris @ 2:14 am

Well, I’d have to say the most interesting facet of this whole national tragedy for me has been observing the reaction of the people..

I’ve been really amazed at how easily people rally for war, and how easily people are manipulated — and how astonishingly ignorant people are.

I also got sick of CNN and most of the major news agencies after about two days.. Thankfully, I had http://www.stratfor.com/ for news and analysis. It was useful enough to me that i went ahead and subscribed. It was worth it!
